QUESTION

How do I check which version of Snowflake I am on?

ANSWER

For some Panther features, like RBAC per log type, your Snowflake edition must be Enterprise or higher.

If Panther manages your Snowflake account, you should contact your account team, who can provide information about your edition.

For customers hosting their Snowflake environment, you can check which version your Snowflake account using the following options:

  • From within Snowsight or using SQL, you can check which version your Snowflake account is on by following the steps outlined in Snowflake's documentation. Please note that you must be an ORGADMIN to access this information.

  • From within the console, you can find your edition by

    • Clicking on your name in the bottom left-hand corner

    • Under Account, hover over the account you want information on and then hover again over the account name. This will pop up information about the account, and you will see your edition.

More information on finding your edition can be found in this Snowflake knowledge base article.

Please note that some Panther features may incur additional costs. Before making changes to your Snowflake edition, contact your account team.
