I received an email from Snowflake about users on our Panther instance—is there anything we need to do about this?

QUESTION

I received an email from Snowflake with the following message about users on our Panther instance:

"You are receiving this email because we have identified your users in Snowflake account alias PANTHER as having risky characteristics, and these users may be susceptible to compromise…"

Is there anything we need to do about this?

ANSWER

Panther primarily uses RSA keys for authentication. Our only password-based user has credentials that are rotated every 24 hours.

We’ve partnered closely with Snowflake, and will make the necessary changes that are made before Snowflake’s enforcement of users is in place.

If you have created any other users in the Snowflake account, please consider enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) if you haven't already done so.
