In the Snowflake instance used by my Panther system, there are several roles that all include "PANTHER_ROLE..." in their names. What are these roles used for?
These roles are used for role-based access control (RBAC) in Panther. Each role used in the Panther Console, visible in Settings as described here, uses a different Snowflake role.
