With a Customer-configured Snowflake deployment, can I query other non-Panther databases?

QUESTION

If I set up Connected Snowflake (formerly known as Bring Your Own Snowflake) for my Panther account, can I have Panther query my other databases in Snowflake?

ANSWER

Yes, and there are two ways to do so depending on your Snowflake account structure.

If the database that you want to access is in a different Snowflake account than the one Panther has access to, you can set up Secure Data Sharing in that Snowflake account to grant Panther access to your other databases.

Otherwise, if your other databases are in the same Snowflake account that Panther uses, you would just need to grant access to the PANTHER_READONLY_ROLE to use your other databases.
