How can I resend an alert or retry an alert delivery if it failed?

QUESTION

I see the error "alert delivery failed" for my destination in Panther. I still see the alerts in Panther. How can I tell Panther to resend the alert to my alert destination now that it's back up?

If my alert was successfully delivered, can I trigger it to be sent again?

ANSWER

Alerts that successfully delivered

Once an alert has been triggered and successfully delivered, it cannot be resent. To create a new alert, you must manually trigger the detection again.

Alerts that failed to deliver

The Panther Console has a mechanism built in to allow retrying failed alert deliveries. To retry sending an alert, do the following:

  1. In the left-side navigation of the Panther Console, click Alerts.
  2. Locate your alert on the page and click the alert title to open it.
  3. At the bottom of the Details tab, click Show History. This will display a history of alert deliveries, and you can click the refresh symbol to retry the alert delivery for each destination.

Note: Currently, Panther does not have the ability to automatically resend the alerts, and there is no way to manually resend the alerts in bulk.
